As of 2009, health care is the political topic of the new year. Health care is an issue that effects Americans ranging from an array of religious backgrounds, races, and social statuses. Historically, since the era of the Elizabethan poor laws, Americans have been taught that it is acceptable to designate services to individuals according to their level of economic status.
